Oxymetholone is a synthetic version of male sex hormone testosterone like any other anabolic steroid. As its clinical purpose it is used to treat anemia which is caused by insufficient red blood cell production. Oxymetholone stimulates the body to produce red blood cell through promoting the synthesis of EPO (Erythropoietin). Due to its effects on enhancing muscle mass, it is used for bodybuilding purpose.
Oxymetholone is a Dihydrotestosterone derivative and for this reason it has positive effects on nitrogen balance. Nitrogen is an importing factor on the fat level of the body. Therefore it is found more effective using Oxymetholone in company with a high protein diet. Oxymetholone is commonly combined with such injectable steroids to promote improving the beneficial effects it has. It should also be mentioned, it is better not to combine it with Dianabol due their similar beings.
